Recent projects:
In West Hills, we designed a yard to convert existing turf to low-water native grasses and sedges, added a pollinator garden, and ensured privacy screening throughout the property.
In Calabasas, we designed a yard to replace dying turf by creating a dramatic cactus and succulent garden with large accent planters.
In Camarillo, we designed a yard to replace trees and upgrade a pond feature with native plants to attract birds.
Examples of 2D graphics
Traditional landscape designs are birds-eye-view illustrations, often hand-drawn in black and white. we provide digital color graphics generated in a software program called Structure Studios. Plant sizes and locations are represented pictorially. Species names are provided in a corresponding legend. This detailed plan serves as a guide for your gardener or contractor so they know exactly what to plant where.
Examples of 3D graphics
Many clients find it hard to visualize what their new yards will look like from a 2D graphic. we can provide 3D images or videos taken at eye-level as if you are walking through your new design. we can also simulate growth of plants and trees over time.
Designer’s Home
My wife and I purchased our Thousand Oaks home in 2020. During the pandemic, we removed 5,300 square feet of dead grass to create our own oasis with native plants, fruit trees, and succulents. The project qualified for a Waterwise rebate. Since completion, we’ve observed 23 species of birds and dozens of pollinators on the property. The images below show the backyard before, during the design phase, and after planting.
